Hi there.
Paul Cooper was a great Paul. Real substance rather than just acting. Really talented bass player as well as a singer.
I remember him from years ago in a band called Mojo Filter from Liverpool. They use to play the Beatles conventions in the Adelphi hotel in the eighties and were by far the most popular band at the time. They were also big in Japan for some reason and had a Single out 'All Of The Time'. I do remember one convention year they performed the Medley from the Abbey Road album. The line up was just 2 guitars, bass and drums and the three guitarists all sang. I was only about 15 at the time but it will always stick in my memory as a truly amazing performance. They were a really great band.
After Mojo Filter Paul joined Sliced Bread. They did classic rock covers and Paul was on bass and sang lead vocals. Sliced Bread were just a 3-piece but again Paul really excelled in this band.
He went on to join the Bootlegs after this. I am not sure why he left. Does anyone know??

Hi I too saw Mojo filter have a few videos of them from Beatle Week great band, doing all the early stuff, the lead guitar player was Rick Allan who is and has been George in The Cavern Beatles for a number of years. Re: Paul leaving I heard from a friend of his that it was after seeing himself in a documentary shot by CH4 showing them getting ready and after a show, there was a particular not very flattering shot of him after a show sweating and without his Beatles wig, he had put a bit of weight on and did not look very good to say the least, after seeing this he decided to leave, I also saw a show they did with Brian Connerly which was a bad one, Paul looked very fat for Paul in 69', I 've seen the Bootlegs a lot in their time the top of the toppermost.

Hi there!
I'm sure Phil Melia was on lead guitar with Rick on rhythm. However were on earth did you get those videos of Mojo Filter from? I would love to see them. Are they videos you shot yourself or did you buy them?
Sad end to his Bootleg Beatles career that. Really great talent is Paul.

Yes, I stand corrected Rick was on Rhythm guitar, the video were bought by me each year a guy called Keith Badman would video all the main bands and the fans enjoying themselves and sell the videos three hours long to the fans I have about three from the very early years of the Beatles festival, they don't do it now, I suppose copyright issues were to blame, but I have concerts of Mojo Filter in their leather gear doing all the early hamburg and Cavern classics and Paul is a very young man. If you want a copy I 'd be happy to get one put on to DVD, let me know your details my email is glennmitchelluk@yahoo.com

I wish I could also meet/see him! I'm only 17, so too young to have known him with The Bootleg Beatles.
Have fun!

When I saw the Bootleg Beatles for the first time, Paul Cooper did Macca, but personally I think David is better (just my humble opinion).

Greetings. We went to see the Bootlegs on Friday night at the Astor Theatre in Perth and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! So glad my sons could see the "Beatles" live. Just wondering if anyone knows which musician is playing Paul. He was left handed. Cheers, Joe
